U Dubrovniku održan „EU connect“ događaj

U Centru za mlade Dubrovnik, a u sklopu projektnih aktivnosti centra EUROPE DIRECT Dubrovačko-neretvanske županije, 22. rujna održan je „EU connect događaj“. Glavni cilj događaja bio je informiranje sudionika o Europskoj godini vještina i nadolazećim Europskim parlamentarnim izborima, a među okupljenima bile su osobe koje prvi put glasaju te šira javnost.
Na samom početku događaja sudionicima su predstavljeni zaključci “State of the European Union” (SOTEU), godišnjeg izvješća koje predsjednica Europske komisije dostavlja Europskom parlamentu, Vijeću Europske unije i Europskom vijeću. To izvješće pruža informacije o trenutnom stanju Europske unije te predstavlja prioritete i planove za budućnost. Sudionici su imali priliku raspravljati o utjecaju odluka tijela EU na njihovu svakodnevicu te su se osvrnuli na ključne prioritete EU za 2024. godinu.
Poseban naglasak tijekom događaja stavljen je na teme kao što su “Gospodarstvo u interesu građana”, “Snažnija Europa u svijetu”, “Promicanje europskog načina života” i “Novi poticaj europskoj demokraciji”. Tom prilikom raspravljalo se i o utjecaju prioriteta na razvoj i pozicioniranje Hrvatske u EU.
Sudionici su također sudjelovali u interaktivnom kvizu koji je obuhvatio poznavanje EU, njezine povijesti, ključnih osoba te upravljačke strukture i procese. Cilj interaktivnog kviza bio je potaknuti sudionike da se bolje upuste u tematiku Europske unije i njezine važnosti.
Kako bi se sudionici informirali i angažirali oko Europskih parlamentarnih izbora, predstavljena je i platforma Europskog parlamenta – zajednoza.eu. Ova platforma povezuje ljude diljem Europe, pružajući im mogućnost da se sastaju, dijele znanje, stječu nove vještine i potiču druge na glasanje, čime se jača participacija građana u europskom demokratskom procesu.
